Updated ViewRanger store

We've rewritten the ViewRanger store in the app.

  • When you select a route, you now may be offered some map options to go with it.
  • The download history button on the front of the store lists all the named maps you have downloaded, so you can download them again. Tiles will be added shortly. Maps you've bought outside the app may not be listed.
  • Some large maps are split into parts, which you can download as and when you need them. For example, Great Britain 1:50,000 is 2.8GB in size. It is split into 11 separate areas, which you can download as and when you need them.
  • You can now comment on another user's shared tracks.

Maps with Routes

A route, with some map options listed below it.

Search for routes to download using the map (search button top right), or using Organizer > Routes, or Organizer > ViewRanger store.

When you choose a route, ViewRanger now offers maps to accompany the route, taking into account the maps you already own. These may be a few map tiles, or may be larger pre-chosen maps. You can still choose to download just the route, using the large Download Route button. But you can also opt to download the route with a suitable map.

The charges may be in credits, or may be charged to your Google Play Store account, or can be a mix of the two.

Commenting on Tracks

If you go to Organizer > ViewRanger store, you can use the 'My Favourites' section to find friends and publishers. (We'll be providing a more obvious way to get to the friends section in the next release.)

Tap on a name, you can then view any tracks they have chosen to share. You can now comment on those tracks.

Use the 'Favourite' button at the top of the screen to add someone to your favourites list, you see a count of these at the top of the screen as 'Followers'. Tap the 'Following' button to see the people who have 'favourited' you.
