1. ViewRanger Account

1.1. Basics

 

Why do I need to create an account?

When you create an account all your map purchases, routes and tracks can be stored in the cloud. This makes it easy when it is time to change device.

Can I change my registered email?

Yes. At http://my.viewranger.com under My Account > My Profile.

 

1.2. Backup

 

How to backup routes and tracks?

In the app on the mobile device use Menu tab (in green bar), Sync content to upload route and tracks to http://my.viewranger.com

How to backup my Points of Interest?

POIs can only be backed up via .GPX files as the website does not support them.

 

1.3. Change device and restore maps

 

How to change device?

Install the app from the app store.
Open the app and sign in.
Press Menu tab (in green bar), Maps. Pull the list downwards to refresh the list. Download your maps over wifi.
Then use Menu tab, Sync content to download routes and tracks.

tip: Android users who wish to use an SD card must configure the storage settings in the app first!

I have lost my maps!

Press Menu tab (in green bar), Maps. Pul the list downwards to refresh the list. Download your maps over wifi..

1.4. License

 

How do I license my maps?

Sign into your ViewRanger account using Menu tab (in green bar), My Account.

tip: Use Menu tab, My account - are you signed in with the correct email?

Do I need a serial number?

You only need a serial number when you buy a new map from our web shop.

 

1.5. Devices

 

How many devices can I have on my account?

Up to 4 concurrent mobile devices per ViewRanger account.

How do I manage my devices?

In the app on the mobile device use Menu tab (in green bar), My account and log in. This adds the device to your account. If you already have 4 active devices you will be asked to overwrite one of the devices

How do I identify which devices are active?

In the app on the mobile device use Menu tab (in green bar), Help and feedback, About to see the device id.

Can I delete a device from my account?

No. The device must remain on your account in a non active status.

How to fix error 'device not associated with account'?

In the app on the mobile device use Menu tab (in green bar), My account and log in (log out and log in if your are already logged in). Add the device when asked.

 

1.6. Cancel Subscriptions, Unsubscribe, Close Account

To manage your email and notification settings, in the Android or iOS app go to menu tab (3 dots top right), Settings, Notifications. Or use the My.ViewRanger website.

To have your ViewRanger account and data removed, please email support@viewranger.com using the email account you wish to remove.
