15.3. Publishing Routes

Upload Routes to website

Before routes can be shared they must be uploaded to the my.viewranger.com website and set as published.
To upload all routes (and tracks) , use Cog tab, Synchronize content.

Routes can also be plotted manually from scratch on my.viewranger.com, as well as from a track recorded in ViewRanger, or an imported .gpx file.

Making a Route ready to publish

Enriched route content

After uploading the route to the website but before publishing a route you should take some time to enrich the content with text, pictures and custom waypoint icons.  This makes it more attractive to the user, especially if you are charging a fee for the route.

Don't forget to add tags to your route - see related page at the foot of this page.

Route privacy options

A route can be set to private or published. If you want other users to see your routes they must be set to published.  We don't support closed groups.

Global level privacy settings

Global privacy settings are always set to private.  You must manually set a route to published.
