16.7. Bluetooth GPS

Android phones do not directly support using external Bluetooth GPS units. ViewRanger uses the phone's GPS service, so on Android does not directly support Bluetooth GPS either.

But there is a third party application in the Android Market, which adds support for Bluetooth GPS. The Bluetooth GPS Mouse software has been tested and works with ViewRanger. A free trial is available through the Android Market for you to check it works with your Bluetooth receive and phone. As there are so many different phone and Bluetooth GPS combintaions it is important you check your own combination. If you have any problems contact the Blueooth Mouse developer.

When you are satisifed the full version of Bluetooth GPS Mouse is £1.67.

The software connects the Bluetooth GPS, and feeds its location information to ViewRanger and other location based apps.
