8. Version 4 what's gone where

ViewRanger version 4 (see related page) is the new version of ViewRanger for iPhone and iPad, which introduces a new user interface.
This page lists which features have moved where, and outlines the main changes.

Home menu

Home menu

The home menu is a new menu, from where you can access most views such as Organizer and Settings. To access the home menu, tap the '>' button top right on the iPhone, top left on the iPad. Or drag from the right edge of the screen (iPhone), or left edge (iPad).

On the map, bottom right, is the Options menu. It contains options specific to the map:

When you select an overlay item on the map - a route, track, POI or buddy - the top bar above the map shows a short summary along with several buttons. For example, you can access the details page, share the item, update its location or edit it.
You can drag the action bar up to shut it. Or drag it down to see a complete list of overlay items.

Record Track, Trip View

Track control

Tap the stop watch button top left (or top right on iPad) to go onto the track recorder and trip view page. The main page is used to stop and start tracks, see a summary, and also to switch the beacon off and on.
Swipe left and right to switch pages. The other pages are configurable - use the buttons in the top bar to add pages or change their layout. Press and hold on a box to change what it shows.
When you are recording a track, the stop watch button shows a value like speed or distance - press and hold on it to change what is displayed. To add an extra stop watch button, use Options > Preferences > Extra trip display.
